|Property details: Villa Bougainvillea, on the edge of the exclusive Urbanisation La Alqueria, has four bedrooms and was designed to get take advantage of the best of the Mediterranean lifestyle.|
The Villa has two pretty double bedrooms, both of which open out onto a patio that spans the whole of the back of the villa. The patio in turn leads to the pool – all part of the natural flow of this property.
Both of the bedrooms are generous doubles, one en-suite and the other next to one of the most luxurious bathrooms you will ever have seen. Both air-conditioned.
There is another bedroom in the main house, a single, which as the villa has WIFI could double as a study for smaller parties. It has the benefit of a fan.
An enormous walk-in wardrobe between the double bedrooms gives a little ‘film star glamour’. The whole of your party could unpack their luggage into this space and there would still be room for a few more pairs of Jimmy Choos.
The indoor living and dining areas were designed with comfort in mind; there are lovely leather sofas in the TV area and a spacious formal dining area next to the kitchen. The kitchen is open to the rest of the accommodation and is fully equipped; there are laundry facilities are in a separate utility room.
A self contained air-conditioned apartment gives a further bedroom with en-suite and a kitchen/diner. The apartment is accessed from the villas driveway – a great place to put the noisy teenagers!
Villa Bougainvillea adds a new dimension to life outdoors; this property has everything you need to live as the Mediterraneans do – outside.
On the patio is a dining area and a wonderful outside lounge with comfortable rattan furniture. By the pool there are plenty of sunbeds, more than enough for everybody to sunbathe at the same time. There are gates near the pool which, if kept closed, will stop small children from getting to the pool on their own.
To the side of the pool is a covered dining area with an outdoor kitchen. There is a work surface, sink with running water and a BBQ. There is no need to sit, eat or cook inside the villa unless you want to.
The views from the house, patio, pool and dining areas almost defy description. You will have stunning views over the Mijas countryside to the mountains in one direction and the sea in the other. For those times when you want to spread out there are fabulous tiered terraces with more seating where you can watch eagles hunting over the valley.
When night falls, owls take over from the day shift and the lights of the Costa del Sol illuminate the countryside, a spectacular sight to enjoy over a jug of sangria perhaps.
In a turret just across from the apartment is another surprise! Villa Bougainvillea has its own gym, with an exercise bike, multi-gym and one of those step machines to send you home with gluteus muscles (buns) of steel.
Villa Bougainvillea has parking, some of it covered, for at least four cars.
Mijas, which is three minutes away, is a traditional white village
offering friendly restaurants, lovely narrow streets to explore,
museums and local crafts to enjoy. Nearby is the sophisticated town of
Fuengirola with its beaches, cafes, great shopping and a wide choice of
Villa Bougainvillea – injecting new life into the old phrase, ‘a
holiday in the sun’.
